Basic HTML for better website Design & Development

Supandi has been prompting me ever since he has been taking your class that he needs to first share with you about HTML before he begins actually talking about designing and developing websites. I wanted to keep his idea a bit slow as I thought you may not like it altogether to start with coding. Hence I introduced you to colors and business perspective of having a website.

I have lot more to share but now I cannot stop Supandi from sharing with you HTML.In a way he is right, if he starts sharing about HTML now then only you will be having a clearer idea about what he is going to do with it in his non development sections.

Alright Supandi will join you guys in a minute and lead you to basics of HTML. Meanwhile by the time he comes I would like you to ponder upon various aspects of website design and would like you to drop me an email in case you wish to know some specific web design, development or optimization concepts, I will consider your request and share about it with higher priority as compared to my course. Send me your feedback at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Finally my master has given me a nod that I can start taking lessons of principles of website design and when we talk about principles we cannot miss the skeleton of website design which is HTML. HTML acts as a complete skeleton to any website, may it be a simple website or the most complex coded websites in aspx. HTML is used to make the skeleton and the skeleton is then used to fill in by using asp, Java, PHP, JavaScript, aspx and other languages.

As I share about HTML let share with you what HTML is all about. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is a language that enables us to present information on the Internet. If you wish to present some information onto the Internet, you need to bind it in at least HTML language. The browser such as Internet Explorer, Fire Fox, and Chrome use this HTML language and interpret it to present with you the information in a fashion that you see.

Just to validate what I just shared you can do an experiment. Open any web page available on the internet and go to top menu View> SourceYou will see that a notepad pops up with all different tags that you will learn in next few sessions. These tags have the information embedded within it. The tags instruct the browsers of how to present the information such as the color, font, alignment and much more.

What I am going to do is break the entire session of HTML into sections and link each section for easy navigation.

I will have sections as under:
